Why we're built for Roanoke

What you'll find when you join us — from Roanoke or from anywhere.

The Roanoke Valley has a long Christian heritage but a thin offering of non-denominational, apostolic and prophetic churches. We hear regularly from believers across the Valley — Salem, Vinton, Daleville, Cave Spring — who grew up in church but were hungry for the presence and power of the Holy Spirit and never quite found it locally. New Wine Church was built for that hunger.

Our Sunday gatherings hold the Word and the Spirit equally — verse-by-verse teaching alongside genuine room for the Holy Spirit to move. No formula, no production. Just a family pursuing the presence of God and the advancement of His Kingdom together.

Several Roanoke Valley families make the drive once or twice a month and connect online for the weeks in between. We'd love to walk that rhythm with you — whether that means an occasional Sunday in person, the Thursday Altar online, or every week from the couch.

Roanoke FAQs

Questions we hear most from the Roanoke area

How far is New Wine Church from Roanoke?

Roanoke is about 55 miles east of Lynchburg — roughly a 1-hour drive on US-460 East. From Salem or Vinton, add about 10 minutes; from Daleville or the Smith Mountain Lake area, drive times vary but the route stays simple.

Can I watch your Sunday service live from Roanoke?

Yes — our 10:30 AM Sunday service streams live every week on our website and YouTube channel. You can join from anywhere with internet. Sermons are also archived on demand right after the service ends.

Are there other apostolic or prophetic churches in the Roanoke Valley?

The Spirit-filled, apostolic/prophetic stream is fairly thin in the Roanoke Valley compared to denominational options. That's part of why we built the Thursday Altar online-only — to serve believers across central and western Virginia who can't easily find this expression of church locally.

Do you host events in the Roanoke area?

We don't currently hold scheduled gatherings in the Roanoke Valley, but as our digital and regional community grows, we're open to it. Email office@newwine.io if you'd like to host a connection group in your area.

What about parking and kids ministry on Sunday?

Free on-site parking at 3135 Fort Ave in Lynchburg, and full kids ministry from nursery through 5th grade during the 10:30 AM service. Pull up around 10:15 for coffee before service starts.

We'd love to meet you, Roanoke.
