Why we're built for Forest

What you'll find when you join us — from Forest or from anywhere.

If you live in Forest, you're already in our neighborhood. We're a quick 15-minute drive on US-221 East — closer to most Forest homes than half the churches inside Lynchburg proper. Sunday morning. Your kids in good hands. You back at brunch by noon.

New Wine Church is non-denominational and apostolic in identity: biblically grounded teaching, real room for the Holy Spirit, and a deep commitment to the local church as family. Both our lead pastors are Liberty University graduates with Master's degrees in Theology and Apologetics, and we're an approved CSER home for LU students. We're a different theological tradition than most Baptist congregations in the area — apostolic and prophetic, not cessationist — but our roots and education run through Lynchburg and Liberty in real ways.

We've welcomed dozens of Forest families over the past few years. Several of our kids ministry volunteers, worship team members, and small group leaders live in Forest. If you're new to the area or just looking for a closer-to-home church home, come visit any Sunday — pull up to 3135 Fort Ave, walk in, and we'll take it from there.

What's the difference between New Wine and other Forest-area churches?

Yes — full nursery and kids ministry every Sunday at 10:30 AM, from nursery through 5th grade. Background-checked volunteers and a clean, welcoming space.

Is New Wine Church connected to Liberty University?

Yes — both our lead pastors, Haniel and Carmen Singh, are Liberty University graduates. Haniel holds a Master's in Theology and Apologetics from LU; Carmen holds MA in Human Services with a focus in Executive Leadership. We're also an approved CSER (Christian Service) church for LU students looking to fulfill service hours in a Spirit-filled, apostolic and prophetic environment. We're a separate congregation from Thomas Road Baptist — we love and respect them, but we sit in a different theological tradition (apostolic and prophetic vs. cessationist Baptist). Liberty students, faculty, and alumni — you have a church home here.

Can I come check you out before joining?

Absolutely. Visit any Sunday — show up, say hi, sit wherever. No commitment, no pressure. If you'd like, fill out our welcome card and we'll follow up to answer any questions.

We'd love to meet you, Forest.
