Charlottesville is full of seekers — UVA students wrestling with what they believe, families in Albemarle County looking for more than they grew up with, neighbors who've tried local churches and felt like something was missing. The questions we hear from this community are the questions we love to sit with: Is the Holy Spirit still moving today? What does it look like to actually walk in the gifts of the Spirit? Can the church still be powerful?

We believe it can. New Wine Church is a non-denominational, apostolic and prophetic house — biblically grounded, Spirit-led, unapologetic about the reality of the Holy Spirit in believers' lives today. Our Sunday teaching is verse-driven; our worship is unhurried; our prayer life is real.

Charlottesville to Lynchburg is about 75 minutes south on US-29. For believers who want to come occasionally — a Sunday once a month, a special event, a Thursday Altar in person — we're a manageable drive. For the weeks in between, our livestream and the online-only Thursday Altar are built specifically for our regional family.

Are you connected to UVA's Christian community?

We have UVA students and alumni in our online community, but no formal campus partnership at this time. If you're a student looking for Spirit-filled teaching that complements your campus ministry, we're glad to have you online and welcome you on Sundays.

What kind of "non-denominational" is New Wine Church?

We're non-denominational in the sense that we don't answer to any denominational structure — we're an independent local church. Theologically, we sit in the apostolic and prophetic stream: Word-centered teaching, Spirit-empowered worship, and a strong commitment to the Holy Spirit's ongoing work in the church today.
